Muslim World League to commission cardiac centre in Kaduna

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani's initiative to enhance healthcare delivery has received a significant boost with the upcoming commissioning of a new Cardiac Centre in Tudun Wada. This advanced facility is a collaborative effort between the Kaduna State Government and the Muslim World League (MWL).

The center is slated for commissioning on Tuesday, with the Secretary General of the MWL, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, expected to inaugurate it. According to Malam Tahir Umar Tahir, Director General of the Kaduna State Interfaith Bureau, the facility will offer sophisticated cardiovascular diagnosis, treatment, and care. This is expected to substantially decrease the number of Nigerians who travel abroad for cardiac treatment.

Mr. Tahir emphasized that the center will serve all patients, irrespective of their religious beliefs, aligning with the state government's broader strategy to improve access to quality healthcare and specialized medical services. The Uba Sani administration has undertaken several health sector improvements, including renovating all 255 Primary Healthcare Centres to Level 2 status, expanding maternal and child healthcare services, and strengthening immunization and disease surveillance programs.

Further initiatives include improving emergency preparedness, supporting the Basic Health Care Provision Fund, and expanding health insurance coverage. The state is also revitalizing its secondary healthcare system by upgrading general hospitals with modern equipment and infrastructure. The administration has prioritized recruiting healthcare professionals, investing in their training, and ensuring competitive salaries and benefits, demonstrating a strong commitment to developing specialized medical expertise within the state.
