Mustapha Lakhsam taken to hospital in Fez in a coma after sudden illness

Mohamed Mustapha Lakhsam, the former president of the Imouzzer Kandar commune, was rushed to a medical facility in Fez after suddenly falling into a coma.

According to information circulating locally, Lakhsam began experiencing severe pain in his abdomen and internal organs on Saturday. His condition later progressed to vomiting and loss of consciousness, prompting friends to intervene and arrange urgent transport for treatment.

Multiple sources said he arrived at a Fez health institution in critical condition. Doctors are carrying out examinations and tests to identify the nature of the illness.

Reports have raised the possibility of food poisoning, but no official medical statement has confirmed the cause. Lakhsam had taken part in an electoral event on Saturday before his health began to deteriorate in the following hours.
