MVS Launches Statement After Luis Cárdenas's Departure; Wishes Him Success

Veteran journalist Luis Cárdenas announced his departure from MVS Noticias on August 6, concluding a 16-year tenure with the media outlet, including ten years at the helm of the morning news program "Primera Emisión."

MVS Noticias confirmed the changes in its programming schedule as part of a new phase for the radio station. The company expressed gratitude for the commitment, dedication, and professionalism of the 43-year-old Mexican broadcaster. In a statement, MVS said Cárdenas decided to conclude his time with them to pursue new professional projects, adding, "We wish him the greatest success in this new stage."

Effective August 10, the "Primera Emisión" slot from 7:00 to 10:00 AM will be hosted by journalist and political scientist Ana Francisca Vega. Vega, an alumna of CIDE with a master's degree from Oxford University, previously worked at Televisa and Foro TV and has collaborated with international media outlets like El País and The Washington Post.

The programming adjustments extend throughout the day. From 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Luz María Zetina and Poncho Vera will host a show combining analysis and conversation. Juan Manuel Jiménez will lead a segment on breaking news, live reports, and interviews from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Pamela Cardeira will offer an analytical space with context and interviews from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

MVS Deportes will expand its coverage to two hours of analysis and debate from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, featuring David Faitelson, Memo Schutz, Carlos Aguilar, and Jorge "Burro" Van Rankin. Mario Campos, a journalist and political scientist, will host an analysis and reflection program on political and social issues from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The day concludes with "Autos y Más" from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM with José Ramón Zavala, and "MVS Negocios" from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
