MWL Condemns Continued Israeli Raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Muslim World League (MWL) has issued a strong condemnation of repeated Israeli raids and alleged violations targeting the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The league denounced actions by Israeli settlers and ministers, carried out under the protection of Israeli police, which include attacks on worshippers and provocative displays like the raising of Israeli flags.

In a statement released Friday by the MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, the league described these actions as dangerous violations that inflame the sentiments of Muslims worldwide. He characterized the incursions as a grave assault on the sanctity of Islamic holy sites.

Al-Issa issued a stern warning regarding the consequences of Israel's continued disregard for the historical and legal status of the holy sites in occupied East Jerusalem, as well as relevant international laws. He emphasized the urgent need for the international community to fulfill its moral and legal obligations by taking immediate steps to cease these violations.

Furthermore, Al-Issa expressed high commendation for a joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Türkiye, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. He affirmed their commitment to confronting Israeli violations in the occupied Palestinian territories and their unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people. The condemnation comes after Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir led a group of Israeli Jews into the Al-Aqsa mosque compound on Thursday, a move seen as breaching the site's long-standing status quo.
