Myongji University Professor Lee Eon-jeong to Host Seoul International Experimental Film Festival Ceremonies

Actress and Myongji University professor Lee Eon-jeong will take the stage as the host for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 23rd Seoul International Experimental Film Festival (EXiS). The festival is scheduled to run from July 23 to July 30.

EXiS, established in 2004, stands as South Korea's only international film festival focused on experimental cinema. It showcases new cinematic endeavors and artistic experiments within experimental film, new media, and contemporary visual arts. This year's edition will feature a diverse range of domestic and international works and filmmakers, offering a glimpse into the present and future of experimental film and visual arts.

Professor Lee, who began her career as an actress through KBS's public recruitment, has consistently balanced her acting career with academic research, earning a doctorate in film studies. She currently teaches in the Theater and Film department at Myongji University's School of Performing Arts, dedicating herself to acting, research, and nurturing future talent. Her role at EXiS will involve guiding the festival's commencement and conclusion, fostering a shared experience for international filmmakers and audiences.

Beyond her teaching duties, Lee has made significant contributions to research and educational development in film, acting, and video content. She has authored three specialized books in these fields. Recently, she registered the copyright for a "Screen Acting Game Teaching Method Manual," developed from her doctoral dissertation, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to creating educational content that bridges practical experience and academic rigor.
