Opposition People Power Party lawmaker Na Kyung-won has stated that President Lee Jae-myung would likely not ask her to play golf, suggesting a fundamental difference in their political approaches. Her remarks came in response to the president's recent golf gatherings with former parliamentary vice speakers from her party. Speaking on SBS Radio's "Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show," Na expressed skepticism about the president's engagement with opposition figures through golf. "While it's not necessarily bad for the president to communicate with the opposition, I have many doubts about the method and timing," she said. Na specifically referenced past allegations that President Lee and the Defense Minister played golf while a naval officer was missing near the Northern Limit Line. Na suggested that these golf meetings might be an attempt to deflect attention from past controversies surrounding the president's own golf activities. "It seems like an attempt to dilute the issue of the president playing golf," she speculated, adding that the "timing and intentions do not appear pure." She emphasized that resolving national issues is more important than mere meetings. "What's the point of playing golf if you don't listen to our voices in the National Assembly?" Na questioned. When asked if she would decline a golf invitation from the president, she replied, "He wouldn't call me," and when pressed for a reason, stated, "President Lee Jae-myung and I don't see eye to eye on much."
