Nadia Nadim to play another season with Danish champions HB Køge

Danish football star Nadia Nadim is set to play another season with HB Køge, the team announced via Instagram. This decision comes after a period of uncertainty regarding the 38-year-old forward's future, who was the top scorer in the A-League last season.

Nadim's continued presence with HB Køge was a key point of discussion for the club's sports chief, Jonas Nielsen. He had previously stated that the club had not given up on retaining Nadim, emphasizing that her decision was ultimately hers. Nielsen mentioned that Nadim had an offer from HB Køge and was free to explore other options before the transfer window closed, while maintaining a positive dialogue with the club.

It is not closed. But Nadia decides what Nadia wants. She has an offer lying with us that she can sign until the transfer window closes.

Last season, Nadim was instrumental in HB Køge's championship win, scoring 16 goals in 16 matches. Her return ensures continuity for the team, which has high ambitions. Nadim expressed her happiness about returning to Danish football and contributing to HB Køge Women's project when she initially joined the club a year ago after moving from AC Milan.

Nadim's career includes stints with notable clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, as well as playing in the United States. She has represented the Danish national team 108 times, scoring 38 goals, but retired from international play after the European Championship last summer. Nadim, originally from Afghanistan, obtained Danish citizenship in 2008 and has also pursued a medical education alongside her football career.
