Nafplio: Two Indian nationals remanded in custody for psychologist's murder

Two Indian nationals have been ordered into pre-trial detention in Nafplio, Greece, after confessing to the murder of a 58-year-old psychologist in Iria, Argolida. The men appeared before the Nafplio investigating judge and prosecutor, where their testimonies were completed.

The investigation began on July 25 when a relative reported the 58-year-old psychologist missing. Police investigation revealed that on the evening of July 24, the two foreign nationals got into the victim's car and traveled with him to a local community in the municipality of Nafplieon. There, they allegedly immobilized him and inflicted fatal blows with a sharp object. They then stole his money, mobile phone, and car, which they later abandoned on a hill near their residence.

A large-scale search operation, involving police, fire services, EMAK, the Coast Guard, the Hellenic Rescue Team of Argolida, and dozens of volunteers, lasted nine days. The psychologist's body was found on August 2 in a field in Kantia, Argolida, in an advanced state of decomposition. An autopsy and forensic investigation were conducted at the scene.

The two perpetrators were apprehended on August 2 in Attica following an organized police operation. They have been charged with homicide, robbery, and illegal possession of weapons. Authorities are continuing the investigation to fully clarify the circumstances of the crime.
