Nakacia to debut as Nakesa shifts to No.8 for Drua Women's home opener

McDonald’s Fijian Drua Women's head coach Mike Legge has announced several changes to the team lineup for their first home game of the 2026 Super Rugby Women's season. The Drua will face the Western Force at Churchill Park in Lautoka this Saturday, aiming to recover from their opening-round loss.

Vika Nakacia, a Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s representative, is set to make her club debut at outside center. Meanwhile, Mereoni Nakesa, who had a strong performance in the first round, will move to the number eight position. Nakacia, originally from Matacawalevu in Yasawa, joins the Drua after representing the national 7s team and previously playing for the Yasawa Women’s Rugby team.

Other adjustments include Alfreda Fisher shifting to openside flanker and Kolora Lomani starting at halfback. The front row will feature Karalaini Naisewa at loosehead prop, captain Bitila Tawake at hooker, and Tiana Robanakadavu at tighthead. Karavaki Lutumaibau and Carletta Yee will pair up in the second row, with Nunia Daunimoala at blindside flank. The halves combination will be Lomani and Varanisese Qoro, supported by wingers Aqela Raitubu and Repeka Tove. Josivini Naihamu remains at inside center, with Nakacia outside her, and Ivamere Rokowati moves from center to fullback.

The bench will include Keleni Marawa, Zipporah Sorokacika, Keri Lawavou, Vilisi Tivalele, Salaseini Railumu, Evivi Senikarivi, Litiana Vueti, and Michella’e Stolz. The team is encouraging fans to attend, with Punjas Fiji distributing free Drua flags to the first 500 supporters. Additional promotions include a $250 shopping voucher for the Jack's Fan of the Match and free T-shirts from Tanoa Hotels Hypers at halftime.
