Nam Dinh Top V-League Table After Opening Round

Thep Xanh Nam Dinh finished the opening round of the 2026-27 LPBank V-League 1 at the top of the table after a commanding 4-0 victory over Hoang Anh Gia Lai at Thien Truong Stadium.

Nam Dinh controlled the match and built a four-goal advantage. Nguyen Xuan Son came on in the second half and scored in stoppage time. The win gave Nam Dinh three points and a plus-four goal difference.

Ninh Binh sit second with three points and a plus-three goal difference after a 4-1 win away to Hai Phong. Foreign striker Lucao drew attention by scoring a hat-trick in his first match of the season. Cong An Ho Chi Minh City are third after beating Hanoi 3-1, with Tien Linh, Nguyen Thai Quoc Cuong and Jason Cummings scoring for the home side.

The Cong Viettel and defending champions Cong An Hanoi follow after 2-0 wins over Dong Nai and Hong Linh Ha Tinh, respectively. Thanh Hoa and Song Lam Nghe An are the other teams with three points.

All seven matches in the opening round ended in victories, with no draws. The standings therefore split immediately into two groups, with seven teams on three points and seven still without a point. Hoang Anh Gia Lai are last, with a minus-four goal difference.
