Nama Electricity Distribution Company has introduced an outage management system, a significant step in advancing the digital transformation of Oman's electricity sector. This new system is designed to streamline the process of managing power disruptions, ultimately aiming to increase the reliability of the electricity network and improve the customer experience by restoring service more quickly and efficiently.

The launch aligns with the company's ongoing commitment to adopting cutting-edge technological solutions and delivering smart, customer-centric services. Abdullah bin Said Al Kindi, General Manager of Customer Affairs at Nama Electricity Distribution Company, emphasized that customer well-being is central to all company initiatives. He highlighted the new system's role in providing greater transparency regarding power outages, allowing customers to receive real-time updates on service status and enhancing communication.

Described as an integrated electronic platform and a "smart brain," the outage management system oversees the entire lifecycle of an electrical outage. From the moment a disruption is detected or reported, the system utilizes smart maps, alerts, and guidance to dispatch the nearest emergency teams to the affected area. It also plays a crucial role in notifying subscribers as soon as power is restored, ensuring a smoother and more informed customer journey during service interruptions.

The system offers more transparency with regard to power outages, noting that the scheme allows the customers to stay informed of the power status updates in real time and enhances the quality of communication with members of the public.
