NAPTIP Reunites 258 Trafficking Victims, Records 78 Cases in Jigawa

In a significant effort to combat human trafficking, Nigeria's National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has achieved a major success in Jigawa state. The agency reported reuniting 258 victims of trafficking with their families, offering them a chance to rebuild their lives. Alongside these reunions, NAPTIP has formally recorded 78 trafficking cases within the state, indicating ongoing efforts to prosecute offenders and address the crime. These figures highlight the agency's active role in protecting vulnerable individuals. Furthermore, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) facilitated the return of 512 Jigawa state indigenes from various foreign countries between January 2025 and July 2026, underscoring the broader issue of migration and the need for support services for returnees.
