National Gallery Singapore to host major pop art exhibition featuring global and regional artists

Art enthusiasts in Southeast Asia have a major event to anticipate as the National Gallery Singapore prepares to host "Pop After Pop: Art Around Us." The exhibition is being hailed as the largest group presentation of pop art and its enduring legacy ever staged in the region.

Set to run from December 11, 2026, to April 4, 2027, the exhibition promises a comprehensive exploration of the pop art movement's origins and its profound impact on artists across Southeast Asia. Visitors can expect to see more than 200 artworks from over 100 artists. The lineup includes iconic pop art figures such as Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol, alongside conceptual artist Barbara Kruger. Notably, the exhibition will also showcase works by prominent Southeast Asian artists, including Singapore's Ming Wong and Indonesia's FX Harsono.

Key pieces that will be on display include Barbara Kruger's "Untitled (Money money money)" and Roy Lichtenstein's "Preparedness." This significant exhibition also signifies a landmark collaboration between the National Gallery Singapore and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, an organization that oversees renowned institutions like the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice.

Admission to the exhibition requires a Special Exhibition ticket. Prices are set at S$15 for Singaporeans and permanent residents, and S$25 for foreign residents and tourists.
