National Library of Serbia completes publication of Vladan Desnica's collected works

The National Library of Serbia has concluded its ambitious project to publish the complete collected works of the esteemed writer Vladan Desnica. The release of the final two volumes marks the culmination of an effort that brings together Desnica's literary output across nine distinct books.

The comprehensive collection includes Desnica's significant titles such as "Winter Holiday," "Short Stories," "The Springtimes of Ivan Galeb," "The Blind Man on the Shore/Jacob's Ladder," "Criticisms," "Essays," "The Discovery of Athanatikos/Well-Deserved Rest," and "Letters/Interviews." The project also features "The Book about Desnica," offering further insight into the author's life and work.

In a move to broaden the reach of Desnica's literary contributions, the National Library of Serbia has also published an English-language edition of "The Springtimes of Ivan Galeb." This translation, rendered by Igor Đurić, aims to make the novel accessible to a wider international audience.
