National Service Program 3.0 Meets All Key Performance Indicators

The Malaysian National Service Training Program (PLKN) 3.0 has successfully achieved all its set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), according to Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari. An impact study revealed positive growth in six crucial elements of human capital development following the training.

Overall, the objectives and KPIs set have been achieved in all PLKN 3.0 training sessions, and all indicators show positive improvement after participants underwent the training based on the findings of the study for the second series this year.

Participants were required to achieve at least 80% in patriotism, unity, discipline and self-transformation, mental resilience and preparedness, military knowledge, and volunteerism. The KPIs were assessed through pre- and post-training surveys and impact studies conducted in collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and the National Defence University of Malaysia (UPNM).

Military knowledge showed the most significant improvement, increasing by 27 percentage points from 56% before training to 84% afterward. Volunteerism also saw an increase from 75% to 83%.

Patriotism scores rose from 82% to 88.98%, while unity scores increased by nine percentage points. Discipline and self-transformation improved from 77.36% to 92.6%, and mental resilience grew from 71% to 83%. Adly also noted that while PLKN is not a job training program, five authorized public sector agencies have agreed to grant additional merit to PLKN 3.0 alumni during their interviews and recruitment processes for public service.
