National Youth Employment Fair opens in Ecatepec, with 150 companies offering over 5,000 jobs

Ecatepec, Mexico, has launched its National Youth Employment Fair, offering more than 5,000 job opportunities from 150 participating companies. Municipal President Azucena Cisneros Coss inaugurated the event, emphasizing the administration's commitment to supporting the region's youth.

We want to help more companies open, there is security here now. We still have a lot to do in terms of security, but we are getting there, we are working to restore the life and tranquility of the residents.

Cisneros Coss announced that these employment fairs will become a monthly occurrence in Ecatepec. "Here, in Ecatepec, you matter to us," she told the young attendees, highlighting the importance of providing avenues for employment and career development.

The fair featured prominent companies such as Jumex, La Costeña, Coca Cola Femsa, Grupo Lala, Grupo Modelo Sigma, and Elektra. The municipal president also mentioned ongoing efforts to improve security and infrastructure, including the acquisition of 250 machines for public works and efforts to restore water service through the municipal network.

Addressing the business sector, Cisneros Coss invited companies to continue investing in Ecatepec, citing improvements in security as a factor. She acknowledged the challenges of combating corruption and impunity, stating that breaking away from past governmental inertia will take time but progress is being made. She also referenced the "Universitarios en Movimiento para el Bienestar" program, which provides transportation benefits to students.

Francisco José Cuevas Dobarganes, director general of the Unión Industrial del Estado de México (Unidem), noted that employment fairs help individuals find dignified, well-paid work close to home. Cisneros Coss also spoke about overcoming decades of neglect and the "stigma, discrimination, and classism" that Ecatepec has faced, vowing to move forward and improve the municipality.

There have been 30 years of neglect... without maintenance for Ecatepec, and they made us believe that we were destined for stigma, discrimination, and classism. That is why the commitment with all the young people is that every month we will have an Employment Fair.
