Nausėda and Rinkēvičs visit Klaipėda, tour LNG terminal and observe naval operation

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, accompanied by Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs, visited Klaipėda on Thursday. The visit focused on the strategic energy infrastructure of the port city and its role in regional security.

The two presidents were given a detailed overview of the operations at the city's liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal. This facility is crucial for Lithuania's energy security, reducing reliance on imported gas and diversifying supply sources in the region.

Following their tour of the energy infrastructure, President Nausėda and President Rinkēvičs observed a live military operation conducted by the Lithuanian army in the Baltic Sea. This demonstration highlighted the armed forces' capabilities and readiness in the maritime domain, underscoring the importance of regional defense cooperation.
