Nausėda to deliver annual address to Seimas

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda is set to deliver his seventh annual address to the Seimas, the nation's parliament, on Tuesday. This year's address occurs during a dynamic period, marked by the ongoing process of forming a new ruling majority and heightened security concerns across the Baltic region.

Recent events casting a shadow over the proceedings include a significant data breach at the Center of Registers, where over 600,000 real estate extracts were stolen. Additionally, the Baltic states continue to experience incidents involving drones, underscoring regional security vulnerabilities. These developments are expected to feature prominently in the President's address.

In his previous address, Nausėda reviewed government initiatives related to tax reforms and regional policy, emphasizing security and national defense priorities. He also offered criticism of the ruling coalition regarding the lifting of legal immunity for Arūnas Dudėnas, a member of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party faction in the Seimas.
