Authorities in Kassel, Germany, are investigating a disturbing incident that occurred during a car parade celebrating a World Cup match. A 28-year-old man reportedly stood on the roof of a car and made a Nazi salute, an act that has prompted a state security investigation.

The incident took place as traffic slowed to a crawl. The car, carrying the man along with two other men and a 16-year-old girl, drew the attention of numerous bystanders. In response to the man's salute, onlookers allegedly damaged the vehicle, including tearing off its license plate. The plate's combination, "HH-88," is significant as "HH" stands for "Heil Hitler" and "88" represents the eighth letter of the alphabet repeated, also referencing "Heil Hitler" in right-wing extremist circles.

According to police, the occupants of the car were attacked through the open windows and sustained minor injuries. Law enforcement intervened to prevent further escalation. The four individuals in the car were arrested and taken to the police station. The state security division took over the investigation overnight.
