NBA: Caldwell-Pope expected to join 76ers after buyout talks with Grizzlies

Veteran NBA shooter Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is reportedly nearing a contract buyout with the Memphis Grizzlies. According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, Caldwell-Pope is expected to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers, reuniting him with LeBron James. The pair previously won an NBA championship together during the 2019-20 season with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Caldwell-Pope, 33, brings a wealth of experience to any team. In his 13-year career, he has played for multiple franchises including the Pistons, Lakers, Wizards, Nuggets, Magic, and Grizzlies. He has appeared in 963 games, averaging 11.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.1 steals per game, with shooting percentages of 42.7% from the field and 36.5% from three-point range.

Last season, Caldwell-Pope was traded to the Grizzlies, where he played 51 games, averaging 8.4 points with a 41.0% field goal percentage and 31.6% from beyond the arc. His potential move to Philadelphia signals a push for another championship run with James, who recently signed a two-year, $8 million deal with the 76ers.
