NBC Delivers 15 Trucks to Tanzanian Cooperative Unions

Tanzania's agricultural sector received a significant boost as the National Bank of Commerce (NBC) handed over 15 trucks to two key cooperative unions. The initiative, aimed at enhancing crop logistics and farmer efficiency, involves the Kahama Cooperative Union (KACU) receiving 10 trucks and the Tandahimba and Newala Cooperative Union (TANECU) receiving five.

The handover ceremony took place during the Nanenane 2026 Agricultural Exhibitions in Dodoma. Raymond Urassa, NBC's Head of Smallholder and Farmer Clients, stated that the investment is part of the bank's strategy to provide innovative financial solutions that empower farmers and strengthen the agricultural value chain. He emphasized that the trucks will address long-standing challenges in collecting and transporting produce from farms to markets, thereby reducing costs and increasing farmers' income.
