NCDMB commends Brentex on $50m steel pipe facility, assures of industry patronage

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has lauded Brentex Petroleum Services Limited for its significant progress on a $50 million steel pipe induction bending and coating facility. Located at the Federal Ocean Terminal in Onne Port, Rivers State, the project is described as a landmark industrial achievement and a testament to Nigeria's growing role in oil and gas logistics, engineering, and manufacturing.

Upon completion, the Brentex facility is set to become Africa's first fully integrated plant capable of handling steel pipes ranging from 2 to 48 inches in diameter. The project has already attracted over $26 million in investments and aims to provide comprehensive services including induction bending, heat treatment, testing, and coating for Nigeria's oil and gas industry.

During a facility tour, NCDMB Executive Secretary Felix Omatsola Ogbe reaffirmed the board's commitment to fostering in-country capacity and industrialization. He commended Brentex for its substantial investment and dedication to developing local expertise, noting the project's importance in retaining value, creating jobs, and strengthening Nigeria's position as a leading energy services hub in Africa. Ogbe assured Brentex of the board's support and encouraged the company to maintain high standards of quality and operational excellence.
