NCHU School of Medicine Graduates First Cohort of 47 Students

National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) marked a significant milestone with the graduation of its inaugural class of 47 students from the School of Medicine. The ceremony celebrated the culmination of years of effort in establishing and developing medical education at the university, fulfilling a crucial need for healthcare professionals in Taiwan.

The graduating class comprises students from various programs, including 23 from the Post-Baccalaureate Program in Medicine, 13 from the Graduate Institute of Clinical Nursing, seven from the Graduate Institute of Clinical Medicine, and four from the Ph.D. program in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine. NCHU established its School of Medicine and the Post-Baccalaureate Program in Medicine, the only national program of its kind in central Taiwan, in 2022.

NCHU President Dr. Jhan Fu-Chih emphasized that the graduation of the first medical cohort signifies the university's successful response to the nation's demand for medical talent. He stated that this achievement represents a crucial milestone in the development of medical education at NCHU.

National Science and Technology Council Minister Wu Cheng-Wen, addressing the graduates, encouraged them to cultivate independent thinking and a commitment to lifelong learning. He stressed the importance of continuous professional development in a rapidly evolving world and urged them to embrace the courage to explore the unknown, especially in the face of new technological waves like AI, semiconductors, and quantum computing. He advised them that true value lies not just in existing knowledge but in the ability to continuously explore and self-improve.
