NCP leader Mushfiqur Rahman assaulted by youths in Khaliajuri

Mushfiqur Rahman, a senior member secretary of the Netrokona district committee of the National Citizen Party (NCP), was reportedly attacked by a group of youths at a food hotel in Khaliajuri. The incident took place in the afternoon near College Field.

Rahman was accompanied by several other party leaders when they entered the hotel. According to witnesses and party sources, a group of young men verbally abused Rahman. When his companions intervened, the youths initially left. However, they later re-entered through a back door and assaulted Rahman with sticks.

He was rescued by bystanders and taken to the upazila health complex for treatment. Rahman sustained injuries to his hand, neck, eye, and other parts of his body. He stated that he did not understand the motive behind the attack and has informed law enforcement and party leaders.

The Officer-in-Charge of Khaliajuri Police Station confirmed that police visited the scene. Legal action will be pursued once a formal complaint is lodged.
