A tragic accident in Dhaka's Dakshinkhan area claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy named Shishir today. The incident occurred around 10:30 am when a battery-run rickshaw collided with the motorcycle Shishir was riding.

Shishir was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in critical condition. Doctors there declared him dead around 5:00 pm, according to Inspector Mohammad Faruk, who is in charge of the DMCH Police Outpost. The body has been sent for an autopsy, and the Dakshinkhan Police Station is investigating the incident.

Following the accident, Shishir was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in a critical condition, where doctors declared him dead around 5:00pm.

According to Shishir's maternal uncle, Golam Kibria, who accompanied him to the hospital, Shishir had borrowed a friend's motorcycle and was riding from the Mollartek area. A speeding battery-run rickshaw struck the motorcycle from behind, causing Shishir to fall and sustain severe head and body injuries.

Locals initially rescued Shishir and took him to a nearby hospital before he was transferred to DMCH. The investigation into the exact circumstances of the collision is ongoing.
