NDDC boss Samuel Ogbuku installed as Paramount Ruler of Bayelsa community

Samuel Ogbuku, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has ascended to the traditional throne of Ayakoro Community in Bayelsa State, becoming the new Paramount Ruler with the title Daufa VI. His installation marks a significant moment for the ancient riverine community, filling the leadership void left by the previous monarch six months prior.

The succession followed the provisions of the Ayakoro Community Constitution, which designates the former Deputy Paramount Ruler to automatically assume the throne, ensuring continuity in traditional leadership. Officials from the Bayelsa State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs supervised the transition process. Chief Micha Itekesi has taken on the role of Deputy Paramount Ruler.

Many residents and stakeholders view Ogbuku's enthronement as the recognition of a leader respected for his extensive service, dedication, and contributions to community development. Speaking after his installation, Ogbuku described the elevation as a profound honor that transcends titles and personal recognition. He sees it as a reflection of the community's appreciation for his past sacrifices and unwavering commitment to Ayakoro's progress and well-being.
