Near 50°C inferno set to grip Kuwait

Kuwait is bracing for a severe heatwave this weekend, with temperatures predicted to soar close to 50 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department forecasts extremely hot weather during the day and hot to warm conditions at night, accompanied by relatively high humidity, especially along the coast.

Dhirar Al-Ali, acting director of the department, informed the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the country is currently under the influence of a surface low-pressure system. This system is bringing an extremely hot air mass and moderate northwesterly winds that are expected to become active and potentially cause dust.

On Friday and Saturday, the winds will shift to southeasterly, increasing humidity. Daytime highs are expected to range between 46 and 49 degrees Celsius, with nighttime lows between 31 and 36 degrees Celsius. Sea conditions will remain light to moderate, with waves between one and four feet. The forecast warns of hot and humid conditions, particularly in coastal areas, throughout the weekend.
