Nearly 700 Kilograms of Marijuana Seized in Chiapas Operations; Three Arrested

Chiapas authorities have intercepted a significant quantity of drugs in two separate operations, leading to multiple arrests. In Tuxtla Gutiérrez, military and security forces, aided by canine units, discovered 58 packages of narcotics at a local parcel company. These packages were already labeled for shipment to various destinations across Mexico.

A subsequent operation in Jiquipilas yielded a much larger seizure. Police agents intercepted a cargo truck and a private car, discovering 92 packages containing marijuana. The total weight of the confiscated marijuana was approximately 691 kilograms and 200 grams. Three individuals, identified as César “N”, Gamaliel “N”, and Edmundo “N”, were arrested in connection with this seizure.

Initial investigations suggest the large shipment of marijuana originated in Mexico City and was potentially being transported towards Ciudad Hidalgo, Chiapas, a town located near the border with Guatemala. The three arrested individuals, along with the seized drugs, cell phones, and vehicles, have been handed over to the Public Ministry for further investigation. The operations involved multiple agencies, including state and federal police, the Mexican Army, and the National Guard.
