Nearly 80% of Kyrgyz University Entrants Opt for Fee-Paying Places

Kyrgyzstan's higher education institutions have admitted 32,800 students following four rounds of admissions, with a significant majority opting for fee-paying enrollment. According to the Abiturient Online system, 79.4% of admitted students, numbering around 26,000, will pay tuition fees. Only 20.6%, approximately 6,800 applicants, secured state-funded places.

The most sought-after fields of study reflect a demand for practical and in-demand professions. Education and humanities, economics and finance, medicine, information technology, law, architecture, and construction emerged as the most popular choices among admitted students. This indicates a clear trend towards fields with perceived strong career prospects.

Universities in Kyrgyzstan plan to enroll a total of 66,000 students this year, with 9,600 spots designated for state funding and 56,700 for fee-paying students. The admission campaign is ongoing, with a fifth and final round set to commence on August 10. This final round will offer remaining spots to prospective students.
