Nearly hectare-sized island vanishes from Canadian pond, then reappears elsewhere

A nearly hectare-sized island in British Columbia’s Williston Reservoir appeared, vanished and then turned up somewhere else several weeks later.

The strange sequence initially looked like an artificial-intelligence-generated joke. It was real, however, according to the report. The island first appeared in the Canadian pond before disappearing and later reappearing in a different location.
