NECO Releases 2026 BECE Result

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the release of the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results. A total of 186,291 candidates from across Nigeria and five foreign countries participated in the examinations, which covered 12 subjects.

The exams were conducted from April 20 to April 30, 2026. The results were made public following a successful meeting of the 2026 BECE Award Committee at NECO's headquarters in Minna, Niger State. Dr. (Mrs) Folake Olatunji David, Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, represented the Minister of Education, Dr. Mauruf Tunji Alausa, and expressed satisfaction with the examination process.

To assist students who did not meet the required standards, NECO has scheduled a re-sit examination for July 22-23, 2026. This session will focus on Mathematics and English, offering candidates a chance to remedy deficiencies. Successful candidates in the re-sit will be eligible for admission into Senior Secondary School (SSS1) without needing to repeat an academic year.
