Negeri Sembilan election seen as key to BN-PN alliance's future

The upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election is poised to be a pivotal moment, not only reflecting the unity of Malay votes but also determining the future of the political cooperation between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) leading up to the 16th General Election (GE16).

Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, Vice President of UMNO, stated that the outcome of the Negeri Sembilan polls will serve as a critical benchmark for deciding whether the current alliance between BN and PN should be sustained. He noted that the nomination day for the election already demonstrated a level of understanding between the two coalitions regarding seat allocation.

Ultimately, it is not the leaders who determine victory, but the people who make the decision.

This election sees a unique arrangement where PN, comprising Pas, Parti Wawasan Negara, MIPP, and Gerakan, is not competing against BN in any seats. Instead, PN is contesting 11 state seats, while BN is fielding candidates in 25 seats. Pakatan Harapan (PH) is the only coalition challenging in all 36 state seats.

Pas, a key component of PN, has called for the consolidation of Malay Muslims, Bumiputera, and non-extremist non-Muslim communities alongside specific political parties, including BN, to form a new force to safeguard the nation. Pas President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang advocates for a unity approach based on the historical example of Prophet Muhammad, urging cooperation between Malay Muslims, Bumiputera, and non-extremist non-Malay communities like MCA and MIC, alongside Sarawak and Sabah parties, to protect Malaysia.

Prioritize Pas together with UMNO, BN, Malay Muslim groups, and non-extremist non-Muslims like MCA, MIC, Dewan Himpunan Pendukung Pas (DHPP) and others, followed by Sarawak and Sabah to save our beloved Malaysia.
