Negeri Sembilan Election: Voters, Not Soothsayers, Will Decide the Winner

The outcome of the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election on August 1st will be decided by the voters, not by political forecasts or any form of divination, according to Pakatan Harapan (PH) Communications Director Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil.

"What will ultimately win any candidate or any party is the voters who turn out to vote. Not studies, not soothsayers, not any predictions, but the voters," Fahmi, who is also the Minister of Communications, stated during a campaign event in Felda Bukit Rokan Barat. He was responding to a prediction by former Bangi Member of Parliament Dr. Ong Kian Ming, who anticipated that the Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition could win 25 seats in the Negeri Sembilan election.

Fahmi views such predictions as a challenge for PH candidates to intensify their efforts to connect with voters, particularly the undecided "fence-sitters." He noted that the campaign's momentum appears increasingly positive as election day approaches, expressing confidence that voters will base their decisions on the state government's performance.

He highlighted the administration of Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, stating it has demonstrated good performance and has not been associated with scandals involving corruption or misuse of public funds. Fahmi added that Aminuddin, known as 'Tok Min,' has remained calm amidst criticism during the campaign, focusing instead on his duties and public service.
