Nepal confirms two Spaniards among 341 foreigners missing after flood

Nepal has confirmed that two Spanish nationals are among the 341 foreign citizens missing following devastating flash floods in the country's northern region. This grim update brings the total number of individuals whose whereabouts are unknown to 403, encompassing both foreign visitors and local residents.

The list of missing foreigners is extensive, including 133 Indian nationals, 47 Americans, 34 Australians, and 33 Britons, among others from various countries. The floods struck early Wednesday morning, impacting several communities near the Tibetan border and causing at least 55 confirmed fatalities. Significant damage to roads, bridges, settlements, and infrastructure has been reported.

Many of the foreign nationals were in the Rasuwa district to complete pilgrimages to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar, sites considered sacred by Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains. Authorities have deployed search and rescue teams to the area as they continue efforts to locate the missing and assess the full extent of the disaster.
