Nepal Fires Cause Millions in Damage

Fires in Nepal have caused significant financial losses, with incidents reported in Parsa, Kathmandu, and Dang districts. A clothing shop in Birgunj Metropolitan City, Parsa, suffered losses totaling 1.2 million rupees due to a fire that started Saturday night. The blaze, believed to be caused by an electrical short circuit, destroyed clothes at Durga Ready-Made Suppliers.

In Kathmandu, a fire at a clothes stitching center near Radha Krishna Temple in Ward 16 caused an estimated 350,000 rupees in damage. This fire broke out early Sunday morning in a shop on the ground floor of Jagrit Khanal’s house. While the exact cause is undetermined, an electrical short circuit is suspected.

Separately, a fire in Dang destroyed clothes, a refrigerator, and other household items in the home of Ramesh Kumar Gupta in old Bhaluwang Bazaar. This incident also began Saturday evening, reportedly due to a short circuit in the house's meter box. In all cases, fire engines, police, and locals assisted in bringing the fires under control.
