Nepal Issues Heat Wave Alert for 14 Districts

Nepal's Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a special bulletin warning of a heat wave affecting the country. On June 4, the department's Meteorological Forecast Division called for alert measures in 14 districts and advised staying updated in seven others, primarily in the southern plains.

Meteorologist Saroj Pudasaini stated that several plain areas across Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces could experience maximum temperatures of 38 degrees Celsius or higher over the next three days. He noted that Bhairahawa recorded 41 degrees and Nepalgunj 40 degrees on the day of the bulletin.
