Nepal PM Inspects Flood-Hit Areas in Bidur

Prime Minister Balen Shah traveled to Bidur in Nuwakot district on Thursday to conduct an on-site inspection of areas devastated by recent floods. The visit included meeting individuals injured in the disaster and assessing the damage firsthand.

Accompanied by Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal, Shah traveled to Bidur by road. His assessment focused on the extent of physical damage caused by the floods. The prime minister also engaged with local officials, security personnel, and elected representatives to discuss ongoing rescue and relief operations, as well as plans for rehabilitation and the restoration of damaged infrastructure.

Bidur is among the areas in Nuwakot that were significantly impacted by the floods. The disaster entered the district through Rasuwa, following a major flood event on the Bhotekoshi River earlier in the week. The Betrawati, Trishuli, and Devighat areas also reported substantial damage, particularly in settlements located along riverbanks.

During his visit, Prime Minister Shah is expected to issue directives aimed at expediting the distribution of relief supplies and the reconstruction of essential infrastructure. The government's response seeks to address the immediate needs of the affected population and begin the process of recovery in the flood-ravaged regions.
