Prime Minister Shah Visits Flood-Hit Nuwakot for Damage Assessment

Prime Minister Balendra Shah embarked on an early morning visit to Bidur, Nuwakot, on Thursday to personally assess the damage caused by recent flooding. Accompanied by Sunil Lamsal, the Minister for Infrastructure Development, Shah's visit to one of the most severely affected areas underscores the government's focus on the ongoing disaster response.

The Prime Minister's itinerary includes meeting with local officials, security agencies, and elected representatives. The discussions are expected to center on immediate relief measures, long-term rehabilitation plans, and the critical task of restoring disrupted infrastructure. The Prime Minister's Secretariat indicated that Shah would issue directives to expedite aid delivery and accelerate reconstruction efforts.

Since the floodwaters surged down the Bhotekoshi river from Tibet on Wednesday, causing widespread damage, Prime Minister Shah has been actively involved in the rescue and relief operations. This field visit signifies a hands-on approach to understanding the ground situation and ensuring a coordinated and effective response to the disaster.
