Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that Israel rejects a 15-point plan for Gaza put forth by the Board of Peace (BoP), a move that also signals a rejection of U.S. President Donald Trump's proposals. Netanyahu stated that Israeli forces will not withdraw from the Gaza Strip until Hamas is completely disarmed.

"Israel rejects the 15-point document," Netanyahu was quoted as saying. He emphasized that any troop withdrawal would only occur after Hamas is "truly disarmed," not just superficially. Israel is reportedly discussing the matter with the United States, which has presented some ideas that Israel finds acceptable and others it does not.

This public divergence from Trump's initiatives is unusual, especially given the upcoming elections in both Israel and the U.S. While Trump seeks a foreign policy success in Gaza, Netanyahu faces domestic political pressures. The BoP announced its 15-point plan on July 30, claiming Hamas had agreed to its terms. The plan called for Hamas to disarm and Israel to gradually withdraw from Gaza.

Under the BoP plan, power was to be transferred to Palestinian technocrats from the independent Palestinian National Committee, a group previously held in Egypt due to Israeli restrictions.
