Netball Fiji Hails Partnership with FBC Ahead of Tournament

Netball Fiji is celebrating a new partnership with the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation (FBC), which its Transition Oversight Committee Chair Vasiti Vugakoto describes as a major milestone for the sport. The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding, guarantees that the upcoming Fiji Invitational Tournament will be broadcast live nationwide.

Vugakoto highlighted the critical role media coverage plays in fostering the growth and development of netball, both within Fiji and on the international stage. She expressed gratitude to FBC for aligning with Netball Fiji's vision and ensuring the tournament reaches audiences across the country. "Media plays a vital role in the growth of sports in Fiji and internationally, and signing this agreement today is a big milestone for Netball Fiji," Vugakoto stated.

As a former representative of the Fiji Pearls, Vugakoto understands firsthand the impact that media exposure can have on athletes and the overall progression of the game. "Having a well-known media organisation support our vision is something special. As a former player, I know how important media exposure is to an athlete’s growth and development," she said. She believes that increased visibility for the sport and its players will provide a substantial boost for the current generation of Fiji Pearls.

The partnership is also expected to enhance player confidence as they compete, knowing they have the backing of fans nationwide. The Fiji Invitational Tournament is scheduled to commence today at 5:30 PM at the Vodafone Arena, with live coverage on FBC Sports.
