Netherlands Warns of "Extremely Dangerous" Trump-Embossed Ecstasy Pills

Health authorities in the Netherlands have issued a critical warning regarding a new batch of "extremely dangerous" ecstasy pills circulating in the country. These pills are easily identifiable by a distinctive image of former U.S. President Donald Trump embossed on one side.

The Trimbos Institute, a leading research body on drug use in the Netherlands, confirmed that several of these highly hazardous pills were recently submitted to its Drug Information and Monitoring System (DIMS) test centers. The pills feature the Trump image on one face and a break line with the text 'NL' above and 'Trump' below on the other. Various color combinations have been observed.

These pills are considered particularly perilous because, in addition to MDMA, they contain PMMA (para-methoxymethamphetamine). PMMA shares similarities with MDMA but has a delayed onset of effects. This delay significantly increases the risk of overdose, as users may consume multiple doses before experiencing any effects, leading to a sudden and severe reaction hours later. Symptoms can include nausea, rapid heart rate, seizures, and a dangerously elevated body temperature.

The institute emphasizes that the extreme overheating of the body caused by these pills can be life-threatening. Despite the absence of reported victims thus far, a "Red Alert" has been issued nationwide. It remains unclear whether these pills have already spread beyond the Netherlands' borders.
