Police investigate alleged misconduct at Peer after-school care center

The city of Peer has confirmed that police are investigating an alleged incident of misconduct at its municipal after-school care center.

The report about a possible incident of misconduct came to the city in early August.

The investigation was initiated after a parent reported a potential case of inappropriate behavior in early August. The incident reportedly occurred at the "Plons" after-school program, which operates at five locations during the school year but consolidates to one center during holidays.

City officials sent an email to parents yesterday, stating that the report was taken seriously and that the city is fully cooperating with the authorities. The email also mentioned that immediate actions were taken internally, including increased supervision and vigilance. The Flemish agency Opgroeien, the supervisory body for childcare, has been notified.
