New 10,000-seat kok-boru arena built in Issyk-Kul region for World Nomad Games

Kyrgyzstan has unveiled a new 10,000-seat arena in the Issyk-Kul region, specifically designed for kok-boru competitions, a traditional Central Asian sport. The facility is set to be a key venue for the upcoming VI World Nomad Games.

Altynbek Maksutov, the chief director of the Games, highlighted the arena's design, noting that its spectator stands are situated approximately 10 meters from the playing field. This is a significant reduction compared to the typical 200-meter distance found at traditional hippodromes, promising a more immersive experience for attendees.

The arena has successfully passed all necessary safety tests, and protective barriers have been installed around its perimeter to ensure security. Constructed from easily removable modular elements, the venue is designed for both kok-boru and kokpar competitions, which will be featured during the Games.

The VI World Nomad Games are scheduled to be held from August 31 to September 6 in Kyrgyzstan, bringing together athletes and spectators for a celebration of nomadic culture and sports.
