New Border Security Director Inspects Military Bases

The newly appointed director general of the Specialized Corps for Land Border Security (Cesfront), Major General Enrique Trujillo, has undertaken an inspection tour of various military bases situated along the Dominican Republic's border. He was accompanied by Major General José Rodríguez Coste, the new director of Intelligence for the Joint Staff of the Ministry of Defense.

By order of the Minister of Defense, after the transfer of command, he ordered us to conduct a tour of all Cesfront bases and several J-2 positions.

The inspection covered installations in both the northern and southern border regions, as well as several J-2 positions. During the tour, the senior officers assessed the personnel, evaluated the operational status of the units, and gained firsthand knowledge of the conditions faced by soldiers tasked with safeguarding this critical national territory.

Major General Trujillo stated that the tour was mandated by the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, following the recent transfer of command in both military departments. "By order of the Minister of Defense, after the transfer of command, he ordered us to conduct a tour of all Cesfront bases and several J-2 positions," Trujillo explained.

Trujillo expressed his satisfaction with the discipline and readiness demonstrated by the military personnel during the inspections. He conveyed pride in assuming leadership of an institution whose members bear a significant responsibility requiring constant vigilance, sacrifice, and presence. "So far, we have received an excellent impression of the soldiers and how they are doing their job. Truly, it makes me proud to know that I will command this unit," he affirmed.
