New Brewery's 'Brewtal' Beer is Summer's Pleasant Surprise

A new brewery in Bibinje, near Zadar, Croatia, is quickly making a name for itself with its exceptionally well-crafted beers, described as the summer's pleasant surprise. The venture, led by brewer Nenad Maričić, who previously gained attention for an ale infused with locally sourced rosemary, has partnered with two associates to launch their operation.

Maričić, originally from Zagreb, relocated to Rovanjska near Zadar to pursue his passion for brewing. His new brewery, situated in Bibinje's business zone, is already producing a diverse range of high-quality ales and lagers. These beers are currently available on tap at Goblet in Zagreb, offering a taste of the Dalmatian coast's burgeoning craft beer scene.

The brewery's portfolio is impressive, featuring a West Coast Pale Ale that has been particularly praised. This ale is noted for its balance, with prominent citrus and pine aromas from Centennial, Cascade, Sabro, and Mosaic hops complementing a subtly sweet malt profile. The brewery has also produced a lager, a red IPA, a New England IPA, and a Bourbon Stout aged in Jack Daniel's barrels, showcasing a wide range of styles and techniques.

While the current offerings are primarily on tap, there is hope that bottled versions will become available in Zagreb soon. This would allow enthusiasts to savor these meticulously brewed beers at their leisure, further cementing the brewery's reputation for quality and innovation in the Croatian craft beer market.
