New Chinese brand Lynk & Co arrives in Argentina with three hybrid SUVs

Lynk & Co, a Chinese automotive brand established in Sweden, has officially entered the Argentine market, introducing three plug-in hybrid SUV models. The company, a subsidiary of the Geely Holding Group which also owns Volvo Cars, Polestar, and Lotus, aims to blend European engineering with Chinese industrial capabilities.

The newly launched models in Argentina are the 01, 06, and 08. These vehicles are priced between US$32,800 and US$63,200. Lynk & Co positions itself in the premium segment, offering advanced features, connectivity, and driver assistance technologies, without being a traditional luxury marque.

The plug-in hybrid system in these SUVs allows for daily commutes using only electric power, with a gasoline engine available for longer journeys. The Lynk & Co 01, for instance, is a 4.54-meter-long SUV that combines a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine with an electric motor to produce a total of 276 horsepower and 535 Nm of torque. It can travel up to 75 kilometers on electric power alone under the WLTC cycle, with a total range of 850 kilometers.

Inside, the Lynk & Co 01 boasts a 15.4-inch multimedia touchscreen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and an Infinity Harman Kardon sound system. It also features advanced technology like facial recognition, phone-as-a-key functionality, multiple USB-C ports, wireless charging, and a panoramic sunroof. Safety features include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot detection, and lane-keeping assist.
