New Demands for Property Owners at Gazivode Lake: Vacate Within 10 Days

Authorities in Pristina have intensified efforts to clear properties around Lake Gazivode, issuing new eviction notices to owners of at least seven structures. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Rural Development claims these buildings were constructed without proper authorization and occupy state-owned land, demanding their removal within a 10-day period.

The targeted properties are located in an area known as 'Međedi potok,' on the opposite side of the lake from where 16 cottages and the 'Jezero' motel were previously demolished. These latest structures were sealed and cordoned off by ministry officials on July 23.

One of the eviction orders states that the properties were built without permits on ministry land and that owners must vacate within 10 days. Kosovo Police will provide assistance if needed. This move escalates tensions as owners attempt to provide documentation to prove their rights, while legal battles, such as the one initiated by the owners of the 'Jezero' motel, are already underway.

Further evictions are planned for properties in the villages of Kovače and Rezala next week, indicating a broader campaign to assert control over the lakeside area. The situation remains tense as residents face the prospect of losing their property amidst ongoing legal and administrative actions.
