New Deputy Health Minister appointed in Kyrgyzstan

Nurbek Bukuev has been appointed as the new Deputy Minister of Health in Kyrgyzstan, according to an order from the Cabinet of Ministers. He succeeds Bakytbek Kadyraliev in the role.

The Ministry of Health announced that Bukuev was introduced to the staff of the ministry's central office. Bukuev has been the head of the National Center of Oncology and Hematology in Bishkek since 2024. He is a surgeon, an oncologist specializing in gynecology, and holds a doctorate in medical sciences.

With 21 years of experience spanning clinical practice, management, and scientific-pedagogical work, Bukuev is a seasoned professional. He also serves as an associate professor in the Department of Oncology and Radiation Therapy at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after Boris Yeltsin. His academic contributions include over 20 scientific publications, and he has been recognized with the title "Excellent Healthcare Worker of the Kyrgyz Republic."

Bukuev's predecessor, Bakytbek Kadyraliev, a cardiac surgeon, was dismissed from his post on August 17. Kadyraliev had served as Deputy Minister of Health for approximately eight months, having taken office in December 2025.
