New 'Dosje Jarak' episode reveals story of man who ordered killings of Croatia's first tourism minister and his own sister

The true crime documentary series 'Dosje Jarak' is releasing a new episode titled 'The Orderer,' delving into the case of Šime Medanić, a man convicted of orchestrating multiple murders. This episode marks a first for the series, as it features an interview with a legally convicted murderer who has served his sentence.

According to journalist Andrija Jarak, the episode focuses on Medanić's alleged crimes, including the ordering of two murders: that of Croatia's first tourism minister and, subsequently, his own sister. Jarak highlighted the chilling nature of the case, noting that Medanić reportedly wept at his sister's funeral before his involvement was known. The series also touches upon a third alleged ordered killing – that of the hitman hired to kill Medanić's sister – though the prosecution lacked key witnesses due to the deaths of involved parties.

Adding another layer to the narrative, the episode includes an interview with Siniša Dvorski, also known as Siniša Stracaboško or 'Rambo.' Dvorski, who served his sentence for his crimes, gained notoriety during the Croatian War of Independence for his appearance in military footage. He later received a conviction for acting as a hitman, allegedly hired by Medanić to kill the former minister. Dvorski's testimony is expected to generate significant media attention upon the episode's release.

Medanić is currently serving a prison sentence for three ordered murders. Despite his incarceration, he is pursuing legal avenues to have his case reopened. Jarak suggests that a retrial could lead to a complex legal situation: either confirming Medanić's innocence in his sister's death after years of imprisonment or reaffirming his conviction as a cold-blooded killer attempting to manipulate the justice system from behind bars. The creators emphasize that reconstructing the crime was facilitated by finding cooperative interviewees and thoroughly reviewing witness and defendant testimonies.
