New DSS leader: High turnout and three-column strategy would topple Vucic regime

Milos Jovanovic, the leader of the New Democratic Party of Serbia (New DSS), asserted that a high voter turnout combined with an opposition strategy of competing in three separate electoral columns could lead to the downfall of President Aleksandar Vucic's government. Jovanovic stated that such a scenario would "topple the traitorous regime of (Serbian President) Aleksandar Vucic."

Jovanovic expressed his hope that the upcoming elections will offer citizens a choice between three distinct opposition platforms. These include a student list, an "authentic right" movement advocating for regime change but opposing EU membership, and a pro-European coalition. This proposed strategy aims to consolidate and channel diverse opposition sentiments effectively.

Furthermore, Jovanovic cautioned that the absence of a viable "authentic right" option could have significant consequences. He warned that if such a movement, which favors cooperation but not EU membership, does not present itself in the elections, votes from right-leaning citizens might instead go to parties that have indicated a willingness to cooperate with, or even provide minority support to, the current government. If an authentic right wing - which advocates for a change of regime and favors cooperation, but not Serbia’s membership in the European Union - does not appear in the next elections, the votes of right-leaning voters will go to those who have already said they will not cooperate with the rest of the opposition and who are even prepared to provide minority support to this government.
